Picked a sunny calm morning to try our hand at ice fishing on Swan Lake.
Drilling through the ice (about 10" thick) with our 6" diameter ice auger.
Here's the fishing hole ready for our ice fishing trap. The trap has a spool of line, a weight and a hook that we use to attach a live minnow for bait. When the line goes out it springs a "flag" to indicate a fish has taken the bait.

Tip up! Is there a fish?
A 17" Lake Trout, about 1" too small to keep.
