January 4, 2016 - Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii
Took an island hopper over from Oahu on New Years Day, after saying goodbye to the boys. Here's Tom on our last sunset there:
We're staying in the largest town on the island of Kauai, the oldest, and furthest Northwest of the larger islands. Kapaa has a little over 6,000 full time residents, don't know how many vacationers, but a LOT. There's a cool little lounge/bar/nightclub near our place that serves some excellent bacon wrapped shrimp over a refreshing cole slaw with a molasses drizzle.
Connie and I hiked the East Trail of the Sleeping Giant a couple of days ago, the trailhead is a couple of miles from our condo, so we walked, then took the 1.75 mile hike (1,000 ft vertical) with gorgeous views around the island:
Today we visited the nearby Wailua Falls, which has their very own Pig Greeter! Fun times.
